Brian Giniewski

Before Brian Giniewski began making pottery full time two years ago, he taught art at universities all around the United States and Canada from the years 2009 to 2016. Now, he works for himself making objects that make people happy. He is indulgent about his use of color because, for his taste, so much of studio pottery is just too neutral and brown. He makes everything here in Philadelphia with his wife, Krista, and a dedicated staff of emerging ceramic artists. He loves Philadelphia, and thinks it is one of the most exciting and sustainable places to be a maker/small business owner. Brian also says it is really important for him to price his work accessibly, so most of his pieces fall within the $20 to $100 price range. He wants to make work that brightens up peoples' surroundings, whether its by providing a new home for their succulent, a cherished coffee cup or a drippy, pastel pencil holder for their desk at work.
