Arianna Armelli

Arianna Armelli is our map artist and founder of Nativah Chaya (nativahchaya.com). Arianna is an avid cyclist and her love for cities derived from a series of abroad travels, specifically her 2010 study abroad biking tour in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Arianna is an Architect and learned the figure ground technique for mapping during her undergraduate study. Arianna is also the Founder and CEO of Dorothy (dorothymap.com). After receiving a Master of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Arianna's focus shifted towards natural disaster preparedness where she then founded Dorothy, a company which more accurately predicts flood risk for home owners and buyers.

What inspired you to make this project?
In 2015 I biked 50miles on a 3 speed cruiser and was really impressed with myself. So I decided to design a map to hang on my wall instead of sharing the strava activity on facebook. I realized if I wanted that sort of memory commemorated then other athletes or travelers would too, so I build the company and launched it in a cycling group on facebook.
