Digital Dignity - 4K Video for Everyone

Phil Shapiro
Phil Shapiro has been a maker since his high school days designing forced air solar collectors using fluorescent glass tubes. He studied two years of mechanical engineering in college and ran his own educational software development company, Balloons Software, for several years in the early 1990's. He has written for MAKE magazine, PCWorld magazine, Ars Technica, Opensource.com, FOSSForce and several other magazines and web sites. His day job is as Public Geek at the Takoma Park Maryland Library, in the Washington DC-area. In his free time he delivers computers and donated tech to people without access to such. https://www.his.com/~pshapiro/themanwhogives2.pdf He also runs an imaginary antique ebook store, where there is no cost for lamenting. https://archive.nytimes.com/pogue.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/10/a-place-for-antique-e-books/ In 2021, he received the Teacher of the Year Award on the short cul-de-sac he lives on. Three houses. One of them abandoned.
