What inspired you to make this project?
When I am ready to work with my hands, the materials come together swiftly, as they always have. For me, studio time encompasses all of the thinking, reading, writing, and doing that takes place outside of my studio. As a textile artist, I draw inspiration from a wide range of sources, including nature, society, and personal experiences. Natural textures and patterns, and other natural components influenced by coral reefs vibrant colors. Because they are so common in our daily lives and are full of metaphor and reconfiguration possibilities, textiles are a pleasure to work with. The textiles, designs, and features of many cultures serve as inspiration for me. I draw inspiration from the history of textiles and their connection to people and the environment.

Another significant component of my inspiration that arouses powerful emotions and memories is the texture of the materials. My textile art project is inspired by my connections to a variety of individuals, locations, and historical artifacts, both modern, contemporary, and ancient. Textiles allow me countless bodily gestures and every creative activity that fascinates me: I can make new shapes when I cut and sew, rip and slash. I can use wet fabric to create sculptures. It is possible to shred, pulp, and reassemble textiles. I can drape and hang objects from textiles because of their tensile strength. I can change. Additionally, showcasing my artwork and art shows projects and art exhibitions is a fantastic source of motivation for networking and sharing experiences.
