What inspired you to make this project?
In 11th grade I joined my school's FIRST robotics program. I had heard of 3D printers, but I had never seen one. By the end of the semester, I had become "the 3D printer guy" at my school, helping to maintain the various printers in our lab. I slowly realized the potential of these machines and decided that I wanted to dig deeper into the mechanisms behind the magic. At the start of my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to complete any engineering project I could come up with. I truly believed that I could build anything. I wanted to create something unique in the field of 3D printing that did not already exist as a consumer product. I came up with the idea for a chocolate 3D printer and the Cocoa Press was born.
