Makerspace Sound & Music Projects/CreateSpace@MFL

Music
Through the Science of Sound programs at the CreateSpace@MFL, we have introduced makers to synthesis and music creation. CreateSpace@MFL is the pop-up makerspace at the Middletown Free Library offering music & maker programs for all ages.

What inspired you to make this project?
Music and audio projects have been a part of CreateSpace@MFL since the planning stages. The idea was inspired by the YouMedia Project at the Chicago Public Library as well as having Isaac involved in the project. Jason has been an awesome part of making CreateSpace@MFL a success with his willingness to learn and try new ideas.

The book came about through our talk of the MAKE: Education Stage at the World Maker Faire NYC in 2016. Isaac and I were contacted by TAB upon our return from the Faire to see if we would be interested in writing a book on music and sound projects for Makerspaces. The book has been a labor of love for us and Jimmy was not only an inspiration for including music in our space but also helped with the projects in the book. His artwork can be seen in the section on Podcasting.
